Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy 

The 2025/26 programme of events is well underway, and on 17th July we were very pleased to welcome Civil Society Consulting who delivered a fantastic session on reducing loneliness as part of their Building Connections workshop. Further events and collaborations are being worked on with CSC, so watch this space!

    Eligibility

    This programme is available to VCFSE organisations, economically active community groups, and businesses with a clear social or environmental mission, based in all districts of Greater Lincolnshire.

    Increasing Awareness of Common Mental Health Conditions

    This event aims to enhance understanding of prevalent mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and other common conditions. It explores the prevalence of mental health conditions, as well as how to spot the symptoms of common mental health conditions, available support, and offers some options for interaction and engagement. This session fosters awareness, reduces stigma, and promotes early intervention strategies to create a more supportive environment (with direct links to working environments) for mental wellbeing.

    Delivered by Charlotte Draper

    Business Research Associate at Bishop Grosseteste University and a dedicated NHS professional, nearing the completion of her MEd in Psychology in Education. With extensive experience in healthcare and mental health support, she is committed to advancing research and practice in mental health across the lifespan. Her expertise encompasses psychoeducation and evidence-based interventions for common mental health conditions, applications of mental health support in educational contexts, and systemic approaches to improving mental health outcomes in professional and community settings.

    Practical Project Management for VCFSE Organisations

    This practical session introduces project management fundamentals tailored to voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations. Covering key tools, techniques, and methods, the session will help attendees structure, plan, and deliver successful projects, whatever their size, while navigating common pitfalls unique to the social economy sector.

    Delivered by Andrew Imms

    Lecturer in Business and a Business Research Associate at the Lincolnshire Open Research and Innovation Centre (LORIC). With over 20 years of experience in the private sector, most notably in automotive logistics and technology, Andrew brings a wealth of real-world insight into organisational transformation, project delivery, and digital innovation. He also leads Imminently, a company focused on AI and digital solutions for education and health.

    GLSEA Networking and Peer-to-peer support session - Grimsby

    Join us at the Enterprise Village in Grimsby for a morning of networking specifically for VCFSE organisations.

    This session will include networking and peer-to-peer support opportunities plus a mini-workshop on workplace Burnout and how to avoid it, delivered by Kay Purle, Head of LORIC and KTPs at Bishop Grosseteste University, who has a background in psychology, guidance, and mental health & wellbeing.

    Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

    Following on from the "Insights" and Innovation" Showcase held at BGU back in March which highlighted the work of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership between BGU and Liverpool Cathedral, a special event will be held at Liverpool Cathedral to celebrate the Insights KTP Project and mark 50 years of Innovate UK's Knowledge Transfer Partnerships programme. 

    Set within the stunning architecture of Liverpool Cathedral, this event aims to:

    • Discover new ways to measure and understand social impact in faith-based and community organisations
    • Learn how research and innovation can connect meaningfully with real world community needs
